Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony and is a microcrystalline quartz. Carnelian is formed from the intergrowth of the two silica minerals, quartz, and morganite. This stone gets its beautiful vibrant red color from inclusions of iron oxide. Carnelian can mostly be found in India, Brazil, Siberia, and Germany.
