Kyanite is typically a blue aluminosilicate mineral, usually found in aluminum-rich metamorphic pegmatites and/or sedimentary rock. Although it's mostly blue, it can be found in clear, green, black, and on rare occasions, purple. It is commonly found in Quartz.
