Larvikite is a black igneous rock made up of feldspar with small chemical composition changes that crystallize in the form of large masses. Within the feldspar itself, there are small silver-blueish shimmering crystals. This mineral was formed 298 million years ago 18 miles beneath the earth's surface and it comes from the local town of its original discovery Larvik, Norway.
