Topaz is one of the most popular rare-colored gemstones. It is known for being the hardest silicate mineral. Topaz occurs in a wide range of colors, with the most valuable being natural pink, orange, red, purple, and blue because they are the rarest. Almost all of the world's fine-quality imperial topaz is produced in the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil.
