Aventurine

Aventurine is a translucent to opaque variety of micro-crystalline quartz. Before the 19th Century, aventurine was called the "stone of the Amazons," because the deposits in Brazil were believed to have supplied the jewelry of Amazon warrior queens.

Many use aventurine as a postive stone for healing negative emotions, promoting compassion, and opening up the mind.

Aventurine is associated with the heart chakra.
