Polychrome Jasper is a variety of Jasper recently discovered in Madagascar. In 2008 while exploring for more deposits of the highly desired Ocean Jasper, the first deposit of Polychrome was discovered. Polychrome Jasper only forms in huge masses and got its original name, Desert Jasper, from its bold shades of brown, red, and tan that are caused from inclusions of Iron.
