Approximate Size and Weight:
Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral that forms in circular patterns through a secondary process in the oxidation zone of copper ore deposits. It is the copper content that gives it the green color. The more water that is in the copper, the lighter it will be, and the smaller the amount of water will make the green darker. The absence of water completely will produce a black striping.
Chemical Formula: Cu2CO3(OH)2
